ROSE BYRNE ♥

We love Rose Byrne- she's got beautiful hair, seems to appear in all the best films and is an amazing actress ♥ In I Capture The Castle she plays Rose, where she looks for love to escape her poor existence at what would have been a fairytale castle in the english countryside. Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette sees her with rose red hair, her tiny frame adorned with decadent gowns of emerald as she brings to life the duchess de Polignac. Both films are pretty and tragic and Byrne plays her roles brilliantly. These are two of my favourites, I have yet to watch Adam but I loved her in Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later. Her films set to be released so far this year are Bridesmaids and X-Men: First Class.

What's new pussycat? ♥

It has just been confirmed that the beautiful Anne Hathaway has won the role of Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the latest Batman film The Dark Knight Rises. Apparently Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley were also in the running, and although i like Jessica and adore Keira, I'm really happy it was Anne who was chosen. I think she's purr-fect for the role of the leather-clad jewel thief!!!

It has already been confirmed that Tom Hardy was already signed up to play the villain in the next Batman installment, but there has been some mystery surrounding who he would actually be. But with the Anne Hathaway news it was also revealed that Tom will be playing Bane. To be honest, I just wanted an excuse to put a picture of Tom Hardy in this post because he is lovely to look at *ahem* and I think he's a great actor; definitely going to be the next big thing I think!

Anyway, as I was trawling through the net trying to find the right picture, I came across this one, and was in total shock! I had no idea that Tom Hardy actually had a small role in Marie Antoinette, and not to brag but usually I don't miss little details like this, so you can imagine my suprise at this finding. I'm going to have to watch it again now, even though I have seen it about a hundred times, but I need to see Mr Tom Hardy in his lovely French get-up. You learn something new every day!

WE LOVE MARIE ANTOINETTE ♥

Beautifully shot and directed Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette has to be one of our favourites! Decadent in its entirety, a super cast- Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Rose Byrne, awesome soundtrack Siouxsie and the Banshees, Aphex Twin, The Strokes and Adam and the Ants- to name a few!
Kirsten Dunst brings the teenage queen right into the 21st century along with candy coloured dresses, extravagant hair and quirkiness that found its roots in Coppola's earlier movies like The Virgin Suicides ♥
All in all it's a beautiful piece of film making that tells the story of France's last queen in a glittering cloud of prettiness, extravagance, elegance and delicacy. Love it ♥

Marie Antoinette's eighteenth birthday scene- sparklers, cake, gambling and New Order ♥

Dresses and the Strokes

The party scene- Siouxsie and the Banshees playing- elegant dresses, lace masks, champagne ♥
